This is an interesting article on study strategies. We were always told to find a quite place with no distractions to study. We usually require our students to sit at desks. Perhaps instead of telling our students how to study we should teach them how to determine and develop the study strategies that are most effective for them.
How Does the Brain Learn Best?
I agree. I was always a desk person but Lacey was more of propped on the bed study-er :-) She listens to music or watches a familiar movie. I need neither of those distractions. To each his own. When I give the students in class the freedom of finding their own space to work on something, you see some of these same traits.
